An election was held at APNIC 16 to fill the vacant Asia Pacific seat on the ASO Address Council. The result of the ballot was an equal number of votes for each candidate. On the recommendation of the APNIC Executive Council, the meeting attendees and both candidates agreed to resolve the election by coin toss. As a result, Hyun-joon Kwon was elected to the AC for a three year term. For full details, refer to the APNIC web site
LACNIC has called for nominations of individuals willing to serve as the next LACNIC region representative on the ASO Address Council. The seat currently held by Raimundo Beca will be become vacant on 31 December 2003.
Nominations will be accepted until 21 October 2003 at 11:59 p.m. Uruguayan time (UTC -3).
ARIN has called for nominations of individuals willing to serve as the next ARIN region representative on the ASO Address Council. The seat currently held by Kim Hubbard will be become vacant on 31 December 2003.

RIPE NCC has called for nominations of individuals willing to serve as the next RIPE region representative on the ASO Address Council. At the ICANN meeting in Rio de Janeiro on March 24, 2003, the RIRs held a meeting with the Government Advisory Committee (GAC) of ICANN.
In December, 2002, Barbara Roseman resigned from her position as an ARIN region ASO AC member. Barbara’s term was scheduled to end on December 31, 2003. To fill the vacancy caused by the resignation, the ARIN Board of Trustees has appointed Kim Hubbard as in interim member of the ASO AC. Kim’s term will end on December 31, 2003.
LACNIC is pleased to announce the results of their election for ASO Address Council representatives.
ARIN is pleased to announce that Mark McFadden has been elected to the ICANN ASO AC from the ARIN region. He will serve a three year term beginning January 1, 2003. Mark will fill the seat being vacated by Cathy Wittbrodt at the end of 2002.
The ICANN Board proclaimed LACNIC to be a fully approved and recognized Regional Internet Registry, to provide IP address registration and other services for the Latin American and Caribbean service region.
