Following a public nomination period, the ASO Address Council (ASO AC) selected the final set of candidates to fill the ASO seat on the ICANN Board currently held by Mouhamet Diop, whose term expires in June 2006. The candidates are:
At its first meeting of the year, on Wednesday, 4 January 2006, the Address Council elected Sebastian Bellagamba as chair of the ASO Address Council for the year 2006. Following his election, the chair invited Alan Barrett and Hans Petter Holen to serve as co-chairs for the year.
In compliance with the ASO MoU and ICANN bylaws the Address Council hereby calls for nominations to the ICANN Board to fill the ASO seat currently held by Mouhamet Diop, whose term expires in June of 2006.
On 2 December 2005, during the ASO AC regular meeting, Mr. Sanford George was selected as the Address Supporting Organization appointee to the ICANN Nominating Committee (NomCom) for the year 2006.
APNIC is pleased to announce that the APNIC Executive Council has appointed Mr Mao Wei of China Network Information Centre (CNNIC) to be the representative of the APNIC region on the Number Resource Organization (NRO) Number Council.
The RIPE NCC Executive Board has reappointed Wilfried Woeber to the NRO Number Council as a representative of the RIPE NCC region. The term of Mr. Woeber’s appointment is from 1 January 2006 to 31 December 2008.
ARIN is pleased to announce Martin Hannigan has been appointed to the NRO NC from the ARIN region. He will serve a three-year term beginning January 1, 2006. Martin will fill the seat being vacated by Lee Howard at the end of this year.

LACNIC is pleased to announce the election of Francisco Obispo as the new representative for Latin America and the Caribbean to the ASO Address Council (NRO Number Council). The election was held on June 30, 2005, during the LACNIC VIII meeting in the city of Lima, Peru.
Francisco Obispo will take the place that will be left vacant on the ASO Address Council by Julián Dunayevich, who is ending his term in December 2005. Francisco will hold this position from January 1, 2006, until December 31, 2008.
