LACNIC has called for nominations of individuals willing to serve as the next LACNIC region representative on the ASO Address Council. At the ICANN meeting in Rio de Janeiro on March 24, 2003, the RIRs held a meeting with the Government Advisory Committee (GAC) of ICANN.

In December, 2002, Barbara Roseman resigned from her position as an ARIN region ASO AC member. Barbara’s term was scheduled to end on December 31, 2003. To fill the vacancy caused by the resignation, the ARIN Board of Trustees has appointed Kim Hubbard as in interim member of the ASO AC. Kim’s term will end on December 31, 2003.

LACNIC is pleased to announce the results of their election for ASO Address Council representatives.

ARIN is pleased to announce that Mark McFadden has been elected to the ICANN ASO AC from the ARIN region. He will serve a three year term beginning January 1, 2003. Mark will fill the seat being vacated by Cathy Wittbrodt at the end of 2002.

The ICANN Board proclaimed LACNIC to be a fully approved and recognized Regional Internet Registry, to provide IP address registration and other services for the Latin American and Caribbean service region.
