During the last APNIC 36 Open Policy Meeting in Xian China, Tomohiro Fujisaki has been re-elected as representative of the APNIC region to the NRO Number Council/ASO Address Council. The ASO Address Council (AC) is pleased to announce that Mr Kuo Wei Wu has been re-elected to fill Seat 10 on the ICANN Board for a three-year term.

Lacnic is pleased to announce the election of Jorge Villa to the Number Resource Organisation Number Council (NRO NC). Jorge will serve in the NRO NC as a representative of the Lacnic region until 31 December 2014.

APNIC is pleased to announce that Andy Linton has been reappointed by the APNIC Executive Council as a member of the ASO Address Council for 2013.

We are about halfway through the ICANN Board Seat 9 nomination phase, which ends on 16 January 2012. If you are considering nominating someone, do not wait until the end of the nomination phase. Nominees will need time to complete the necessary documents, and furthermore, the ASO AC Qualification Review Committee will need time to review those documents and select candidates. This must all be done by the close of the nomination phase.

On Saturday, 3 December 2011, maintenance work will be conducted on the backend storage for the NRO/ASO websites and mailing lists. The websites will be inaccessible for a period of approximately one hour at some point during the maintenance window of 9:00 – 17:00 CET (GMT+1). Email will also be unavailable while the website is down, and any email received will be queued for delivery once operations resume.
