It is without hesitation I express my unequivocal support for Mr. Mr. Ray Plzak as a candidate for the ICANN Board.
His successful tenure as President and CEO of ARIN and earlier experience at the DoD.NIC make him eminently qualified to sit on the ICANN Board. His expertise will prove to be a valuable asset.
Apart from his obvious wealth of experience, I believe that Mr. Plzak is a visionary who has the ability to make plans and bring them to fruition. He has been objective and balanced in his dealings with the CTU and I appreciate his ability to look at issues from different perspectives and select the right option.
I have been particularly, impressed with his ideas for Caribbean Internet community which he successfully implemented, resulting in great benefit to regional stakeholders.
I am convinced that Mr. Plzak will seek ICANN’s best interest and that the qualities I have observed will prove to be invaluable to the Board.

I have known Ray since the early days in the formation of Afrinic. He has always been a strong supporter of Afrinic, especially in the early and vulnerable years of the organisation.
On a professional level, I have always been impressed by his dedication to the industry and the Internet community at large. He was present at most of the international meetings where important decisions and debates on the future of the Internet were taking place. I would like to support the election by the ASO of Ray Plzak to the ICAN Board of Directors.
I’ve known Ray for several years,and I have interacted with him in a variety of fora, including some 1-on-1 discussion regarding the evolution of the INternet and the role of RIRs in that process. I have been impressed with his knowledge, his professionalism, and his concern regarding keeping the Internet open, accessible and free. When he was with ARIN, he made a point of noting that ARIN’s constituencies included not only North America, but other countries in the hemisphere, and he was intent on assuring that they were fairly and well treated by ARIN. His obvious technical and organizational strengths add to his qualifications for this position.
Ray is a thoughtful guy. He may not say a lot, but it’s my impression that when he talks, it’s after thinking an issue through and providing a considered opinion. He treats serious issues as serious business and doesn’t shot from the hip. My sense is that he will be a thoughtful, engaged and diligent Board member whose contribution will be valuable for and valued by the organization. I support his election to the Board.

As an ICANN fellow in Puerto Rico, I attended my first ICANN meeting, and found Ray at the ARIN booth giving out resources and information. I am an educator and I find him willing and generous with his knowledge and experience, both in support of general educational materials as seen, for example on the ARIN website, in answering questions sent to him by email. Knowledgeable, patient and analytical, I think Ray would be a great addition to the ICANN board.
