James Kennedy
James Kennedy is a graduate from the University of Limerick, Ireland since 2005 with a B.Sc. Degree in IT and Telecommunications. After moving to Amsterdam, he developed a career in Internet number management and policy. Between 2008 and 2013 he worked for the RIPE NCC as an IP Resource Analyst. Subsequently James became the Manager, then Senior Manager, of IP Address Management at Liberty Global – a tier-1 ISP and IP transit service provider with operations across several European countries. He now helps AWS manage their IP number resources globally.
James has a deep understanding of, and appreciation for, the RIR system and the bottom-up, consensus-driven Internet policy making mechanism. He is an active member of the RIPE community and contributor to working group mailing lists. Today he is the co-chair of the RIPE Address Policy working group, and he co-chaired the RIPE Database Requirements Task Force.
