On 16 March 2011, members of the ASO Address Council presented a workshop at ICANN 40 in San Francisco, CA. The presentation included overviews of the ASO AC, the Policy Development Process, IANA/NRO/RIR updates, and current Global Policies and Proposals.

Kenny Huang, who represented the APNIC region on the ASO AC, has resigned from his position, effective 25 February 2011.

His resignation comes as a result of being elected to serve on the APNIC Executive Council (EC) during the APNIC 31 AMM on 25 February 2011.

We are pleased to announce that the APNIC AC has appointed Tomohiro Fujisaki to the Address Supporting Organization Address Council for a one-year term from January 2011 to 31 December 2011.

The ASO is pleased to announce that the ASO Address Council has selected Ray Plzak to serve for a three-year term on Seat 9 of the ICANN Board of Directors. Mr Plzak’s term will begin on 7 May 2009.

In line with the ASO Memorandum of Understanding and ICANN Bylaws, the Address Council calls for nominations for Seat Number 9 on the ICANN Board. The AFRINIC community has elected Vincent Ngundi to the NRO-NC/ASO-AC. He will serve a three year term beginning on 1 January 2008, replacing Ali Badiel.

The AfriNIC Board has re-appointed Alan P. Barrett to the Number Resource Organization (NRO) Number Council for a three year term starting 1 January 2007. The AfriNIC Board has also appointed Ali Drissa Badiel to complete the term commenced by Sylvia Geha Kezengwa on the NRO NC (which expires 31 December 2007).

In compliance with the ASO MoU and ICANN Bylaws, the Address Council hereby calls for nominations to the ICANN Board to fill the ASO seat currently held by Raimundo Beca, whose term expires in June of 2007. APNIC is pleased to announce Toshiyuki Hosaka of JPNIC, Japan has been elected to the Number Resource Organization (NRO) Number Council. Toshi’s term runs from 1 January 2007 to 31 December 2007. He replaces Mao Wei whose term ends on 31 December 2006.
