RIRs

There are five Regional Internet Registries (RIRs) in the world. RIRs manage, distribute, and register Internet number resources (IPv4 and IPv6 address space and Autonomous System (AS) Numbers) within their respective regions.

The Number Resource Organization (NRO) is the coordinating body for the five RIRs. It also fulfils the role, responsibilities and functions of the ASO. These functions and responsibilities are outlined in the ICANN-ASO Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

	AFRINIC Region: Africa ICANN/ASO Information
	APNIC Region: Asia and Pacific ICANN/ASO information
	ARIN Region: Canada, many Caribbean and North Atlantic islands, and the United States ICANN/ASO information
	LACNIC Region: Latin America and parts of the Caribbean ICANN/ASO information
	RIPE NCC Region: Europe, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia ICANN/ASO information
